Health project in DSSS is one of the most important projects through which many poor women and children get benefits, especially better health services in the remotest villages of Manipur. The project covers three districts Ukhrul, Senapati and Chandel. Project is implemented in 5 health centers containing in 40 villages. The centers are situated in Chingjaroi and Longpi in Ukhrul district, Purul and Willong in Senapati district and Tengnoupal District. The proposed project seeks to provide complete cascade of maternal and child health services; (including ANC, Institutional delivery, Appropriate feeding, growth monitoring, nutritious, immunization and treatment of various ailments, and also control of specific deceases related to Alcohol in target area.
The project has two Objectives and are focused on- Improving the quality of maternal and child health services in the target villages by increasing the consumption of IFA (Iron Folic Acid tablet), facilitating of ANC visits of pregnant women to health care facilities, providing community health services, promoting preparation of nutritious food among households, reduction of alcoholism in the target area, creating awareness, linkage affected people with social security schemes of Government and obtaining recognition of the service provided by the mission health care facility by the Government.
