Diocesan Social Service Society is the social work organization of the Archdiocese of Imphal. DSSS was established on 27th September 1991, registered under the Societies Registration Act, Reg. No. 254/M/SR/1991. DSSS Imphal is the development wing of the Archdiocese of Imphal which initiates, coordinates, plans, formulates, implements, monitors, and evaluates all developmental projects. As it is for the social concerns of the Church it facilitates the communities to respond constructively to the changing situation and demands of the environment.

DSSS has been working with different sections of society irrespective of their caste, creed, ethnicity, and race with a clearly defined vision and mission, followed by specific objectives that have been reread in the contemporary context. It accords priority to the empowerment of the poor and marginalized for social transformation.
